About Me
I am currently an associate professor at the School of Artificial Intelligence at Sun Yat-sen University. I also serve as deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Data Element Development and Utilization. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where I was advised by Prof. Lei Chen.
Research Interests
My research focuses on urban computing, LLMs and AI agents for smart cities. My group collaborates with researchers at HKUST, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Tsinghua University, and Tongji University.

- [Feb. 2026] Our work Da-RAG has been accepted as an oral paper at WWW 2026.
- [Sep. 2025] I was appointed deputy secretary-general of the Database Professional Committee of the Guangdong Computer Society.
- [Aug. 2024] I served as a local co-chair for VLDB 2024 in Guangzhou.
- [Jan. 2024] Our project “物联网数据管理与表示的技术方法级应用” received the Second Prize in Natural Science from the Guangdong Computer Society. I was the principal contributor.
- [Mar. 2023] Our paper on pricing for hub-oriented mobility services, with third-year undergraduate Zuohan Wu as the first author, was accepted to ICDE 2023.
- [Nov. 2022] In collaboration with HKUST and CETC, we received a Key Program grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), with funding of approximately CNY 2.6 million.
- [Mar. 2022] I co-founded the Ministry of Education-approved Virtual Teaching and Research Office for Database Courses.
- [Oct. 2021] Our paper on differential privacy for spatial crowdsourcing, co-authored with researchers from HKUST and ECNU, was nominated for the Best Paper Award at CIKM 2021.
